Ethereum – Top 10 Articles to Get Started – Finxter

Can you believe 5 years ago 1 ETH was priced at $9.33 USD?

ETH is now on the rise, priced at $4270.66 USD with growth showing 45,673.42%.  But wait, are you still not sure what Ethereum is?  Perhaps you’ve heard of it but only have a vague idea.  Not to worry.  I’ve compiled a list of 10 articles to help you get started.

My first selection is a comprehensive, easy-to-read article on Ethereum basics.  This will serve as a primer on your Ethereum journey.  The writer does a great job of simplifying the different topics that comprise Ethereum.  By the time you finish the article, you will have a really good understanding of its history, use cases, and potential.

Check out this next article which explains the roles of nodes and clients within the Ethereum platform.  The article clearly explains the differences and gives some really good examples.  The article ends with a brief description of a client called MetaMask, which happens to be number 3 on this list.  Be sure to read all about it.

This next article will fully inform you and point out the pros and cons of the Metamask wallet.  It provides a good overview of its features, along with a walk-through of the install process.

One of the popular use cases of Ethereum is Decentralised Apps. Have a read over this article to get an idea of what they are, and the different industries they’re involved in.

If you’re not aware, there’s a major update that is in progress regarding Ethereum’s shift from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake.  Read over the article to find out the reasons, and also how to stake ETH yourself.

Hopefully, you read the above article and are now fully aware that ETH mining will soon be replaced with staking.  But, if you’re still determined to mine your own ETH, then check out this article which explains how to mine Ethereum.  By contributing your computational resources, you can potentially earn yourself Ether tokens as a reward.

Another great use case for Ethereum is smart contracts.  This article gives a good explanation along with some real-world examples.

Here’s a very good article that provides a detailed explanation of Non Fungible Tokens.  After fully understanding the concept, it follows up with an explanation of how it’s implemented in Ethereum.

Are you an artist or creator?  Read this article which provides a step-by-step guide on minting your very own NFT!

Lastly, here’s an extensive guide to understanding Decentralized Finance.  And if it leaves you wanting more, the author was kind enough to provide additional resources for you to read up on.

Summary

I hope the articles on this list provided enough insight and interest to lead you towards the next step in your blockchain journey.  I know the artistic side of you is waiting to emerge, and when it does I’ll be waiting to see you mint the next big NFT!

Solidity is the programming language of the future.

It gives you the rare and sought-after superpower to program against the “Internet Computer”, i.e., against decentralized Blockchains such as Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Ethereum Classic, Tron, and Avalanche – to mention just a few Blockchain infrastructures that support Solidity.

In particular, Solidity allows you to create smart contracts, i.e., pieces of code that automatically execute on specific conditions in a completely decentralized environment. For example, smart contracts empower you to create your own decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) that run on Blockchains without being subject to centralized control.

NFTs, DeFi, DAOs, and Blockchain-based games are all based on smart contracts.

This course is a simple, low-friction introduction to creating your first smart contract using the Remix IDE on the Ethereum testnet – without fluff, significant upfront costs to purchase ETH, or unnecessary complexity.
