We use Word document templates quite heavily with our Dynamics CRM Online, and I wondered if there’s any products / add-ins out there that will allow for completed documents to be put back into the CRM record automatically without having to upload them manually?
Our scenario is this:
User creates a ‘thank you’ letter from the Donation Entity record using a Word document template that’s stored in CRM.
All relevant fields (e.g. name, address, donation amount etc) are merged into the template
Template is downloaded to the Downloads folder on the user’s PC
User goes into the Contact record of the donor and manually uploads the template
It’s this final bit that we want to automate if possible.
I’ve seen this video from Sonoma Partners which does pretty much what we want. However, the video is very old, the CRM version is obviously different, and I can’t seem to find the vendor any longer:
